Stewart Avenue Infrastructure Project & Northeast Sewer Improvements
Phase 2 Road Closure (7/23/2025)
The City’s contractor, H&W Contracting, is planning to start the curb and gutter, sidewalk and approach pavement installation for the Stewart Avenue project on July 23rd. Due to the safety of the public and workers, the streets and sidewalks shown in the blue-shaded area of the closure map will be CLOSED to ALL TRAFFIC and PEDESTRIANS. Please remove any vehicles from the closure area prior to 8:00 am on July 23rd. Pine Street may be temporarily opened with gravel surfacing after the installation of the curb and gutter at the Contractor's discretion. Please note that concrete can take up to 4 weeks to meet the design strength, therefore vehicles driving through the site shall not drive on or near the newly poured concrete until the street is fully opened after asphalt paving. Asphalt paving is anticipated for the week of August 4th. Phase IC Road Closure (6/24/2025)
The City’s contractor will be starting on Stewart Avenue and Elm Street sewer replacements tomorrow. These areas will be CLOSED to ALL TRAFFIC AND PEDESTRIANS. The contractor is also planning OPEN access on Pine Street with a gravel surface by next Friday. We appreciate everyone’s patience during the construction season. Phase IB Road Closure (6/17/2025)
The City’s contractor will be installing the storm sewer on Stewart Avenue through the intersection of Oak Street starting tomorrow, June. 17th. This area of Oak Street and Stewart Avenue will be CLOSED to ALL TRAFFIC and PEDESTRIANS starting in the morning and is expected to be closed for two days. Phase I Road Closure & Detour Route (5/19/25)
The City’s contractor is planning to start the Stewart Avenue project this week, weather dependent. They will start on PINE STREET between Wood Avenue and Stewart Avenue. This portion of Pine Street is anticipated to be CLOSED for 3 to 4 weeks to ALL TRAFFIC and PEDESTRIANS. We appreciate everyone’s patience during the construction season.
