Public Reminder - Animals Defecating on Public Property
CITY OF PHILIP RESIDENTS
PUBLIC REMINDER
ANIMALS DEFECATING ON PUBLIC PROPERTY
The City of Philip has received complaints regarding animals, more specifically DOGS, defecating on public property which includes sidewalks, streets and alleys.
We would like to remind the community members of City Ordinance #15-508 which requires:
A person in possession of any animal shall not allow it to defecate on public or private property other than his or her own.
Should your animal defecate, it is your responsibility to immediately and thoroughly clean the fecal matter from such property.
The City Council strongly encourages all those in possession of an animal within the City to comply with City Ordinance as you may be fined $50 plus court costs. Furthermore, we kindly request that anyone witnessing a person allowing their animal to defecate and does not clean it up to please contact the Philip Police Dept. at 859-2850.
We thank you in advance for your cooperation in controlling your animal’s waste.
